Renovation Diary: Chapter Three
Injured cats, overthinking, lists, and design inspiration on steroids
It’s been a weird couple of weeks and an injured cat (Cleo - my third child) has really made me feel quite out of sorts with worry. She’s still got a bad limp, is possibly a tiny bit better today, but I can’t say for sure.
The vet said she should be kept off the stairs / confined for at least ten days, and keeping a curious cat contained is not for the faint-hearted as any cat owner will know. She hates closed doors and being cooped up apparently makes her rebel. As a result I’m quite sure she’s made her leg worse on at least three occasions (soooo stressful), so every day until yesterday has felt like day one again. It’s been a bit all consuming really, and I’ve pushed her checkup back until Monday instead of Friday afternoon because if she needs to be sedated and/or have tests they wouldn’t do that on a Friday afternoon and I’d just need to take her back again next week, and that’s definitely not good for either of our stress levels. I’m really praying she shows real improvement by then. Oh, and thank god for stinky gross Liver Paste for hiding her medication in.
ANYWAY. That’s one of the reasons I’ve been way less productive over the past week than I’d have liked and we haven’t got very far on the microcement in the garden shower room at all. Ed has removed the power shower, the toilet and the shower screen, and I’ve almost finished removing all the silicone - of which there is a lot, around the shower tray etc. I’m hoping to finish that this week so I can start filling the grout lines.
